The Run4Sam Races Are All About Giving Back
Samuel Reed was an honor student and a cross-country runner at Schuylkill Valley High School. Although his interests included anthropology, history, and ancient cultures, his passion was distance running, and he logged countless miles running the Union Canal towpath along Tulpehocken Creek. According to his family and friends, Sam lived with enthusiasm and an infectious sense of humor and was passionate about pursuing dreams and ideas. After graduation in 2006, he attended the University of Pittsburgh, majoring in anthropology. Sam was in his sophomore year at Pitt in September of 2007 when a drunk driver killed him in a hit-and-run.
